WHO ARE WE? The Permanent Secretariat of Non-Governmental Organisations (SPONG) is the first collective of NGOs and Development Associations (AD) operating in Burkina Faso. Through promoting a culture of citizen participation and accountability, SPONG federates and coordinates the participation of NGOs/ADs in development and voices their views in the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies as one of the spokespersons of civil society. OUR VISION: 'A Burkina Faso where NGOs/AD-Foundations have a voice and the capacities to take part in building a just, equitable, peaceful, resilient and democratic society'. OUR VALUES: GOOD GOVERNANCE - DIVERSITY - DIALOGUE - SOLIDARITY. Objective: to get to know each other better, act in the field with greater coherence and move forward together in dialogue with the State and technical and financial partners. This led in April 1975 to the creation of the SPONG collective, declared in accordance with law no. 18/AL of 31 August 1959, under Receipt No. 10/IS/DGI of 9 April 1975, and approved by the Government of Burkina Faso through an agreement signed in 1987.
