How we process the personal data of visitors to Atlas of Aid, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Data controller

2. What data we process

• Visiting the site. No registration is needed. The server logs the technical data of every request (IP address, date and time, page, browser), like any website. We use no advertising and no third-party analytics; fonts, charts and maps are served from our own site.
• Our own statistics. From those data we compile visit statistics on our server. The IP address is not stored: it is replaced by a code encrypted with a key that changes every day, used only to count the distinct visitors of the day. From the address we derive only the country, using a database installed on the server itself (DB-IP), without sending it to anyone.
• Requests for extracts. If you ask us for a custom extract or analysis, we process your email address, your organisation if you give one and what you write to us in order to assess the request and reply.
• Error reports. If you write to us to report an error in the data, we process your email address and what you write in order to check it and reply to you.
• Data on organisations. The profiles concern organisations, not people: we do not publish the names of representatives or executives, even when the sources contain them.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Site security and statistics without profiling: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)). Error reports: legitimate interest in keeping the data accurate and replying to you (Art. 6(1)(f)). Requests for extracts: pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)).

4. Who receives the data

The providers that host the site and handle email, which process the data on our behalf (Art. 28). We do not transfer data outside the European Economic Area without the safeguards required by the GDPR.

5. How long we keep them

• Server technical log (with the IP address): 30 days.
• Statistics without IP: 24 months.
• Error reports: 12 months.
• Requests for extracts: 12 months.

6. Cookies

We use a single technical cookie, lang, which remembers the language you chose in the selector. It is necessary for the site to work and does not require consent; there are no profiling or third-party cookies.

7. Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (Arts. 15-22) by writing to info@atlasofaid.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
