NGO income over time
United States (367 organisations) Rest of the world (538 organisations)
Total income from accounts, in euros at a fixed rate, always the same organisations in each group: those that closed or have not yet filed are not counted. US accounts arrive about two years late, so the 2025 cuts to US funding do not show yet. Gavi is excluded (its 2021 vaccine funds would dwarf the rest). Funds passed from one organisation to another are counted twice, so the trend matters more than the level. See USAID cuts and NGOs
Who is included: non-governmental organisations working in development cooperation and humanitarian aid for people in other countries, from official charity registers and IATI. Universities, hospitals, places of worship, private grant-making foundations and organisations working only for a high-income country are not included.
