Civil Rights Defenders is a politically and religiously independent human rights organisation. We partner with and support human rights defenders who work in some of the world’s most repressive regions. We work on four continents. Our headquarters is located in Stockholm, and we have eight regional branch-offices around the world. Civil Rights Defenders was founded as the Swedish Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in 1982.

They include funds passed on to local partners. Not all donors name the recipient of their payments, so figures may be incomplete; EU funds are in their own section.
