Capital For Good Usa

US non-profit organisation. Based in: United States. Active at least since 2010. Main sector: health.

Today, the global population is increasingly getting access to, and embracing, digital solutions. They use digital apps to access to services; buy food and basic goods through digital payment solutions; and benefit from government digital systems that efficiently run hospitals, water and power networks, and public transport. But for every action there is a reaction. For digital transformation, it is data. As more and more people enter into the digital realm, the amount of data generated is enormous (up to 3.5 quintillion bytes each day). Yet, across the world, especially in low-income countries, people are unable to meaningfully benefit from the information they produce. This phenomenon is known as the data divide. To successfully bridge this gap, we must ensure that digital transformation – and the data it generates – are harnessed to serve individuals and communities. People everywhere can benefit from the power of data and digital technology, but it must be thoughtfully designed – and implemented – to prioritize their needs, aspirations, and wellbeing.

Payments to the organisation reported by the aid agencies of 17 countries (USAID, FCDO, BMZ, Sida and others) in their own IATI data, converted to euros at the year's average rate. They include funds passed on to local partners. Not all donors name the recipient of their payments, so figures may be incomplete; EU funds are in their own section.
